Description of Bretteleben Globe :
A rotating globe. The script in its current state is not really applicable to be used on live-sites. There are no problems with current browsers, but it overstrains current cpus. The script works - as long as the radius is not choosen to large - without problems, but strains the computer in a way you would not expect your visitors to take. Serious problems the script has with Firefox, version 3 and above. On versions up to 3 the script worked like a charm - starting with version 3 its a real pain.
The source does not care about elegance and style, its designed for speed only - and therefore rather large. The image is doubled for the same reason.
I ijnvite everybody to participate in speeding up the script. The onle rule: Improvements in one browser may not be paid with regress in another.
