Java PDF Extraction Decode Access Library (JPedal) is an open source java library that can extract both the raw text and images from PDF files. It can also generate a BufferedImage of a page. As this java bean is written in pure java it can run on any operating system where Java is available. It can also be run from a shell script and a commercial dll version.
