The unit CDATA consists of some important chemical data tables and conversion routines as well as some basic routines processing chemical information. Among these are the conversion of atom symbols to atomic numbers, the chemical atomic weight of all chemical elements, the atom symbols of all elements, the atomic weight of the most abundant isotope of each chemical element, the support of a graphical display of a periodic table of the elements, several important chemical constants, the calculation of the molecular weight, the checking for a correct CAS registry number, and the number of valence electrons.
