Description
Active Data Online ListServer is a Windows compatible mailing list software powered by Microsoft .net and Windows. ListServer provides a means to announce, discuss and share ideas within a group via email. ListServer is a .net Windows Service. It runs as a background process and is controlled by Windows's Service Control Manager (SCM). ListServer does not have a graphical user interface. The system works as follows. ListServer will listen to one or more POP3 email accounts for incoming messages to lists, and it will send messages to the subscribers of lists via SMTP. Unlike some other mailing list servers, ListServer does not have to be on and connected to the Internet continuously. Because of the use of POP3 technology, ListServer can be installed and used on a Windows server or a Windows workstation.
